abe, mai vista come cosa, ma il concetto è semplice: rendere lo strumento più bilanciato.
soprattutto se il corno non arriva al 12° tasto è facile che lo strumento cada verso la paletta (cosa che nei Fender non succede, appunto), quindi "allungando" il corno si bilancia.
niente di esoterico. Steinberger usava una sorta di braccio di metallo cui agganciare la tracolla per rendere le scopette più comode
